U.S. reality television personality Bristol Palin has confirmed she had "corrective jaw surgery" late last year, which changed the shape of her face.
Palin, a single mom and the 20-year-old daughter of former Republican vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin, made headlines when she debuted a more chiseled-looking face in April.
"It's not plastic surgery," she told Us Weekly exclusively. "I had
corrective jaw surgery. ... Yes, it improved the way I look, but this
surgery was necessary for medical reasons ... so my jaw and teeth could
properly realign ... . I don't obsess over my face."
"I look older, more mature and don't have as much of a chubby little baby face," she told Us Weekly.
Palin competed on "Dancing with the Stars" last season. BIO recently announced she will be the focus of a new reality series for the cable network. The show is to follow Palin as she moves from Alaska to Los Angeles to work for a small charity.
