Olivia Wilde, one of the most recognizable faces in American television, has filed for divorce in Los Angeles. Wilde is seeking a divorce from her filmmaker husband Tao Ruspoli after eight years of marriage, records show.
Wilde's decision is similar to many other in the acting industry.
"Irreconcilable differences" were cited as the reason for the split, UsMagazine.com said Friday.
Wilde's publicist confirmed the couple separated last month.
"Olivia got married really young. She's done a lot of growing since then, just like anyone would. ... They've just grown in different directions," a source told UsMagazine.com.
Wilde, 27, is best known for her work in TV's "House" and in the movies "Year One" and "Tron."
Ruspoli, 35, has directed the films "Fix," "Behind the Wheel" and "Being in the World."
