State Department's "Ministry of Truth" honors Madsen and Online Journal
We are flattered—flattered!—that the excellent work of investigative journalist Wayne Madsen and Online Journal have come to the attention of the State Department and are deemed worthy of attack by its Ministry of Truth (a.k.a. Counter Misinformation Team) honcho Todd Leventhal.
While this is not quite as prestigious an honor as being included in Richard Nixon's Enemies List, especially since Mr. Leventhal's operation can barely be called a team—himself, a full-time assistant and one part-timer—and is part of the Karen Hughes-inspired International Propaganda . . . Information Programs, we accept this honor as a start in getting the Bush administration's panties in a wad or, as our British cousins say, knickers in a twist.
Not all of us in the Fourth Estate will lie down to be trampled on by neocons, theocrats, Republicans and Democrats. To borrow the words of Dylan Thomas, we will “not go gentle into that good night,” but we shall continue to “rage, rage against the dying of the light.”

Bubba wanted your Social Security money too
“Social Security rehab first died under Clinton”(Carolyn Lochhead, San Francisco Chronicle) exposes in detail is how the current Social Security "reform" agenda began under Clinton and comprised all the current Bush administration rationales: the "need to save it" and Wall Street "private accounts". And Clinton's program would likely have succeeded, had it not been for the Monica Lewinsky scandal that distracted Washington.
Clinton and Bush have been on the same team since the days of the Reagan-Bush era Mena, Arkansas, narcotrafficking operation. Looting, the manipulation of markets, black budget operations, accounting frauds (Enron, Worldcom, etc.), budget shenanigans, and money laundering—and the cover-up of all the above—are bipartisan, joint neocon-neoliberal imperatives.
In addition to agendas that funnel as much existing funds as possible to Wall Street (the CIA is Wall Street and vice versa), Social Security is a program that elites know will no longer be sustainable as Peak Oil's wars sap the federal till dry—if the till even has money in it now.
Where is the money?
Will the real economic hit men please stand up?
Why is Maurice “Hank” Greenberg of AIG, under investigation for a swindle (that also involved the venerable Warren Buffett) taking the Fifth?
What more do liberals, progressives and Democrats need to hear, before they stop deifying Clinton and let Democrats off the hook? Will they ever “get it?”

Talabani: ‘Everybody's agent' heads Iraq
What many of us have been predicting for years continues to sickeningly unfold. The Anglo-American pillage of Iraq continues, by hook and by crook, with the emphasis on world-class crooks, compradors, functionaries and intelligence assets.
Now Jalal Talabani, "everybody's agent" is interim president. (See short bio below, from a report written way back in October 2002, prior to the US invasion.)
One by one—Chalabi, Allawi, Talabani, Jaffari, etc.---the US will prop up puppet after puppet, pouring more kerosene on the fire.
Those who wish to keep their eyes on the reality should read:
America is usurping the democratic will in Iraq (Michael Meacher)
Hijacking democracy in Iraq (Scott Ritter)
The deep politics of regime removal in Iraq: Overt conquest, covert operations (Larry Chin)
Part Two: The CIA and the Iraqi/Kurd opposition groups

Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK)
The PUK was established in the 1960s by its current leader, Jalal Talabani, a former member of the KDP. A master opportunist, he has earned a reputation as "everybody's agent." PUK's primary goal is the removal of Saddam Hussein, and the establishment of a Kurdish state.
According to Al-Kurdi, the PUK "posits a 'modern' approach to Kurdish politics, cooking Kurdish interests in every conceivable sauce, with flavors meant to edify and attract supporters among the governments of Israel, Saudi Arabia, Iran, Turkey, the United States, and a host of others. The PUK leader Talabani has openly courted Israel, the United States, Saudi Arabia, Iran, Saddam Hussein and Turkey, entering in a variety of "understandings" with all of these states in recent times."
