A set of Paris gems worth more than have been found in the sewers of Seine-Saint-Denis, a suburb of Paris, France.
The gems are worth more than $25 million and are believed to have come from a 2008 heist on luxury jeweller Harry Winston's collection in Paris.
A total of nineteen rings and three sets of earrings were found in a drain outside a home in Seine-Saint-Denis. The home where the jewels were found belongs to one of the nine people already charged in the 2008 crime.
Harry Winston was an American jeweler. He donated the Hope Diamond to the Smithsonian Institution in 1958 after owning it for a decade, and traded the Portuguese Diamond to the Smithsonian in 1963.
