Former two-time heavyweight boxing champion Joe Frazier was remembered at a Philadelphia funeral Monday attended by his greatest opponent, Muhammad Ali.

Frazier, whose three epic bouts in the 1970s with Ali were among the sport's greatest fights, died of liver cancer last week and was laid to rest following a private funeral at Enon Tabernacle Baptist Church, CNN reported.

Frazier became the undisputed world heavyweight champion following his defeat of Ali in a 1971 bout at Madison Square Garden in New York, known as the "Fight of the Century."

Ali took their 1974 rematch in a 12-round decision and then outlasted Frazier in the 1975 classic "Thrilla in Manila" bout.

Also present at Frazier's funeral were such boxing luminaries as promoter Don King and current World Boxing Council champion Bernard Hopkins, as well as civil rights activist Jesse Jackson and Philadelphia Mayor Michael Nutter, the broadcaster said.
