A body found in a rural area during the weekend was that of a missing Tennessee mother of four, authorities confirmed Monday.
The Dyersburg State Gazette reported the death of Karen Swift, 44, of Dyersburg was being investigated as a homicide.
KAIT-TV, Jonesboro, Ark., reported Swift's body was found Saturday afternoon. The medical examiner's office in Memphis used dental records to identify the body as Swift's, the TV station said.
Swift had gone to a Halloween party the night of Oct. 29 and disappeared early Oct. 30. Her car was found abandoned near her home with a flat tire.
The Gazette said Dyer County Sheriff Jeff Box said Swift's body was found a short distance from her house, concealed by undergrowth and vegetation.
No arrest had been reported.
