MSNBC says it plans to air a documentary, which shows how Dr. Conrad Murray and his legal team prepared for his involuntary manslaughter trial in Los Angeles.
Murray was convicted Monday in the 2009 death of pop star Michael Jackson. The singer's personal physician faces a possible four years in prison when he is sentenced Nov. 29.
Murray was convicted of causing Jackson's death by giving him anesthesia and sedatives to help him sleep at home, then failing to come to his aid when he was in distress. The cardiologist also has been criticized for not having emergency equipment on hand or keeping records of his treatment of the recording artist.
MSNBC said it plans to broadcast "Michael Jackson and the Doctor" Friday.
"October Films spent two years gaining exclusive access to Dr. Conrad Murray and his defense team, led by Ed Chernoff, a Houston-based defense lawyer, and J. Michael Flanagan, a Los Angeles-based defense lawyer," MSNBC said in a news release. "In a series of very personal interviews, Murray discusses in detail Jackson's fragile health and mental state, yet unstoppable dedication to creating a successful world tour. The documentary gained access into the closed-door meetings with Dr. Murray's defense team both before and during the trial, giving a look into their strategy and how they pieced the case together."
