Singer Taylor Swift was forced to cancel concerts this week, including Atlanta and Charlotte, N.C., due to bronchitis.
"It breaks my heart to miss out on this weekend's shows with my friends
in Charlotte and Atlanta," she says. "I would never
cancel if I thought I was physically able to perform these shows. I am
so sorry to the fans, but I look forward to seeing you when we come back
through your towns, which we will do."
Swift added that she's been advised by her doctor
that she's not well enough to perform the shows, but she's expected to be back on stage in Montreal July 14, according to the Los Angeles Times.
The singer said the Atlanta show has been rescheduled for Oct. 1, and the Charlotte show will now be Nov. 16.
Swift, who was clearly aching to get back on tour, tweeted Thursday,
"Yeah, there are all sorts of fun things to do while sick and on vocal
rest. Like sitting here, popping bubble wrap by myself.
#wishiwasontour."
The concerts are a part of Swift's Speak Now tour, which kicked off on Feb. 9 in Singapore. She's slated to play 90 performances in 19 countries.
