After giving birth to her first son in June, actress Natalie Portman has revealed that she and fiance Benjamin Millepied have named the baby Aleph.

The name comes from the first letter of the Hebrew alphabet (Portman was born in Israel) and also represents the number one, according to People.

The esoteric meaning of Aleph in Judaic Kabbalah relates to the origin of the universe, the "primordial one that contains all numbers," TV Guide reports.

The Oscar winner, who was born in Jerusalem, Israel and speaks some Hebrew, gave birth to a baby boy on June 6, 2011. The baby weighed in at 8 pounds, 7 ounces.

Portman, 30, met choreographer Millepied on the set of "Black Swan,"for which she later won an Oscar for Best Actress. She most recently starred in "Thor."
