My thanks to Linda Heard and her husband for their friendship and hospitality, and for providing me with the opportunity to make some Egyptian friends and acquaintances who allowed me to experience Egypt in a way few foreigners ever do.

I shall relate what I learned and observed as soon as I dig out from under all that piled up here in my absence. My intention to post to Online Journals blog from over there proved too cumbersome. Even with using webmail to delete the spam, I was left with a mountain of email and articles galore, to deal with on my return. In addition, we are suffering daily power outages, thanks to our electric company that is working at a snails pace installing new transmission lines.
