Elizabeth Warren Donations rolling In

Elizabeth Warren, campaigning to unseat Scott Brown in next year's U.S. Senate election in Massachusetts, has raised $3.15 million in just weeks, records show.

The amount raised by the Democratic challenger was more than twice the $1.55 million collected in the third quarter by Scott, the Republican who won the office in a 2009 special election following the death of Sen. Ted Kennedy, a powerful Democrat who held the seat for four decades, The Hill reported Monday. But Brown has more than $10 million in his political war chest.

Warren's campaign announced the donations started coming in after Warren's exploratory committee was announced -- but that most of it poured in after her official announcement on Sept. 14, the Washington publication said.

Warren's campaign reported her donors included more than 11,000 people in Massachusetts, most of whom contributed less than $100 apiece.

Polls show Warren, one of five Democratic candidates, would be a strong candidate in a match-up with Scott, The Hill said.
