ABC's "Modern Family" dominated Wednesday night's ratings with 14.3 million viewers, Reuters reports.
The premiere of the comedic mockumentary's third season beat out Fox's season premiere of "The X Factor," a reality talent show from creator Simon Cowell. According to Reuters, only 12.1 Americans tuned into the premiere of "The X Factor", which is only about half of the viewership of the previous season of American Idol.
The strong start for "Modern Family" follows Sunday evening's Emmy Awards where the show took home the trophies for Outstanding Comedy Series, Supporting Actor and Actress, Directing
and Writing.
