Zsa Zsa Gabor May Become a Mother at Age 94

Zsa Zsa Gabor's husband says that the ailing actress may become a mother again, at age 94.

Prince Frederic von Anhalt, Gabor's ninth husband, says that the couple plans to add to their family using a donor egg, artificial insemination and a surrogate mother.

"We talked about it," he told AFP, "saying 'Remember, we always wanted a baby, and now it's too late.' And I said to her, 'Well maybe its not too late.'"

Anhalt has no illusions that his wife would live to see the child grow up.

"Now my wife is in bad shape," he says, "I don't know how long she's going to be with me... I would like her to see the baby, I would like her to hear the baby screaming, to touch the baby's hair.

"If she dies before me, then I've nothing to live for," he added.

Francesca Hilton, Gabor's daughter from her second marriage to hotel magnate Conrad Hilton, issued a statement this week denouncing Anhalt's plan.

"Francesca is shocked but not surprised that vonanahlt (sic) continually creates publicity for himself at the expense of the legacy of her mother Zsa Zsa Gabor," Hilton's statement reads. "We are still trying to get over his wish to have Zsa Zsa's body preserved and displayed. What's next from von Anhalt? Zsa Zsa clones?"

Hilton isn't the only one objecting to Anhalt's plan. Dr. Dan Shapiro, a reproductive specialist from Atlanta, also thinks it's a terrible idea.

"This is not a reasonable request," Shapiro told CNN. "This is not a childless family seeking to family-build... Just because youre capable of creating a baby and creating a family, is it in the interest of the couple? In the interest of the baby? Is there a social interest in making families that look like this? I think the answer in this particular situation is no, no, no.'"
