Robertson endorses Giuliani

Add Pats reco to my last article on Hizzoner, How low does Rudy go?; his resume now lower than ever thanks to the endorsement of televangelist and Christian Dominionist Pat Robertson (check the link, too, for Pats scandalous resume with the Dominionist church he leads, advising his sheep to smile at their enemies until they get a chance to stab them in the back. Then youll have a good idea just how low we go in America, that is, to hell and back).

The Endorsers Dominionism

For instance, On December 24, Christmas Eve 2001, I wrote, Pat Robertson stepped down as president Of The Christian Coalition. Lo and behold behind the nativity scenes, religious conservatives believed Robertsons step was taken so that President Bush could take his place as head of the American Holy Christian Church. So reported Katherine Yurica in The Despoiling of AmericaHow George W. Bush became the head of the new American Dominionist Church/State.

From 1982 through 86, Robertson, plus other radio and TV evangelists, rallied Christian soldiers to this new political faith. It turned them literally into an army of political ops. Most of us didnt have a clue that this militant agenda dressed up as Christianitys lamb was licking its chops with a scheme for a government coup that would turn the U.S. into a wolf (or Wolfowitz), seeking a world empire for the 21st Century. Yet as early as 1994, lone journalist Frederick Clarkson warned that Dominionism seeks to replace democracy with a theocratic elite that would govern by imposing their interpretation of Biblical Law. And this to eliminate" . . . labor unions, civil rights laws and public schools."

As to the citizenry I wrote, "Women would be generally relegated to hearth and home. Insufficiently Christian men would be denied citizenship, perhaps executed. So severe is this theocracy that it would extend capital punishment [to] blasphemy, heresy, adultery and homosexuality." Sound like yesterdays news? Well, that aint all. Today as yesterday, Dominionism is into stealth. As stealthily as Robertson himself, distributing at an Iowa Republican County caucus this memo, "How to participate in a Political Party," which read: .

Rule the world for God.
Give the impression that you are there to work for the party, not push an ideology.
Hide your strength.
Dont flaunt your Christianity.
Christians need to take leadership positions.
Party officers
control political parties and so it is very important that mature Christians have a majority of leadership positions whenever Possible, God willing . . .

A Christian lock on political power? There goes the separation of church and state. Thanks to good old Pat Robertson, everybodys friend. He even said he warned Bush about Iraq. Could he have smiled and lied again? Now as you pull the blade out of your back, you can see why these folks have gotten all kinds of control, since 1986, in the Republican Party and government throughout the U.S. They stay secret, and hold to undermining government social programs for the sick, poor and elderly, all the while beating the drum for laissez-faire economics, asking folks to look to God and not to government for help. Well, okay, but He/She/It/The Force/The Void may be busy running the universe.

Yet its estimated 35-million plus American Christians subscribe to Dominionism in the U.S., and dont even realize themselves how heretical, how seditious their goals are, thanks to the great job the televangelists and their churches did in painting a picture of an outside enemy, a kind of spiritual al Qaeda, which in reality is the secular society we call the home of the brave and the land of the free.

Whats more, theyre running on time to overthrow that society, since the complete takeover of American government was set for 2004. Yabadabadoo! So unless we resist the GOPs agenda, we can kiss our culture, Constitution and laws goodbye. If in saying this I scare the hell out of you, remember thats their aim: to scare the bejesus out of you.

Just so you know, Dominionism was born in a movement called Christian Reconstructionism, founded by the late RJ Rushdoony, his son-in-law Gary North, old Pat Robertson, Herb Titus, the former dean of Robertsons Regent University school of Public Policy (used to be CBN University); Charles Colson, born again Nixon crook; Pats political strategy guy Tim LaHaye, Gary Bauer, the gone Francis Schaeffer, and Paul Crouch, coincidentally founder of TBN, the worlds largest TV network, and a battalion of bobble-head TV and radio evangelists and talk show hosts.

The real trick was to start with the Gospels and turn the spiritual Kingdom of God into a real-life political empire, to be taken by force; first stop the U.S. of A.

Tossing out Jesus and his original message, My kingdom is not of this world, the Dominionists came up with their Gospel, sole purpose to drive Christians into politics and make world domination (as in Dominionism) happen. Thats so Jesus could came back to earth, and the world table would be set for his rule by his ever-loving regents, all Judases, pockets jingling with sell-out silver.

Machiavelli, Communism, Secular Humanism and neoconservatism go to work for a Militant and truly evil Anti-Christian Religion. . . ." And so on.

Pats endorsement vs. the truth

This should give you an inkling of who we are dealing with as the endorser. Meanwhile, read the full article for the full odor of brimstone and the devil with the big grin and shiny white teeth. Suck up the first resume to get a more complete picture of Americas Mayor and why the citizens of his own New York City and state did not hand him a win as their choice for the Republican presidential candidate, Tuesday, November 6t; nor did they choose him above Democrat Hillary Clinton in a poll for president.

If Rudy is looked at as incompetent in his own state based on his mayoral and personal ethics, just imagine what a mess he would make of America, already deep in the doo-doo of Iraq and Afghanistan, and Cheney itching to sack Iran. Yet heres what Robertson said about Rudy in the New York Times Caucus Blogs, Rudy Giuliani took a city that was in decline and considered ungovernable and reduced its violent crime, revitalized its core, dramatically lowered its taxes, cut through a welter of bureaucratic regulations, and did so in the spirit of bipartisanship which is so urgently needed in Washington today.

Rudy Giuliani took credit for reducing crime, which had already had started to decline during Mayor David Dinkins' administration. Rudy also claims credit for the addition of police, which was initiated by Dinkins and added to through funding from Clintons anti-crime bill, detailed in my Rudy story. His figures on tax cuts are inflated as well.

As to the spirit of bipartisanship, Rudy was originally pro-abortion and pro gay marriage, which issues he has flip-flopped on. In fact, after his second marriage broke up, Rudy roomed with a gay couple, as Frank Rich reported in Rudy, the Values Slayer, in the New York Times. He roomed with them until he could put his life together and find his third wife, Judy Nathan. He has also been a frequent cross-dresser at public events. Could he be gay and pushing his way out of the closet? How embarrassing.

Pats rhetoric vs. reality

But then Pat goes on with his Rudy-revelation: Our world faces deadly peril: nuclear-armed North Korea and the foreboding of nuclear arms in Iran; deadly violence from Hamas and Hezbollah against Israel; the possible overthrow of Pakistans government, and drawn out wars in Iraq and Afghanistan. In all of the crises which confront our nation and the world, we need a leader with a bold vision who is not afraid to tackle the challenges ahead.

While Pat rings the nuclear alarm bell on North Korea and Iran, he forgets to mention Israels 200 plus nuclear warheads sitting at Dimona in Israel. He forgets to mention as well that the violence of Hamas and Hezbollah has been more than matched by Israels violence in its quest to colonize a country into which Jews were inserted by the UN and a beleaguered Harry Truman in 1948, and against the unanimous wish of the entire Muslim world. To not expect a military response was sheer insanity.

As to Rudy being a bold leader with a bold vision . . . not to afraid to tackle the challenges ahead, In his eight-year tenure as mayor, Hizzoner was not even able to provide his bold, brave New York firemen with working radios so that hundreds of them would not have lost their lives on 9/11. And thats just the tip of Rudys iceberg. Yet heres more Rudy foam from Pat . . .

He proved time and again that he is a true fiscal conservative. Rudy served as a high official in the Justice Department of Ronald Reagan, and later as a United States attorney, won acclaim as a valiant crime fighter. Justice triumphed as he took down mafia dons, drug traffickers and corrupt politicians. He understands the need for a conservative judiciary and with the help of the distinguished Ted Olson, who is here today, and other members of his team, has assured the American people that his choices for judicial appointments will be men and women who share the judicial philosophy of John Roberts and Antonin Scalia.

As to Rudys fiscal conservatism, ask Mayor Bloomberg who had to clean up the financial mess Rudy left behind, what he thinks. As to Rudy Giuliani as a crime-fighter, he recently grabbed headlines by saying that the mafia planned to kill him. It turns out three out of the five New York crime families when given a vote had chosen not to kill him. Why could that be? His own family ties to the mob? Or was he better for business?

As to Giulianis Reagan Justice Department service, AP writer Calvin Woodward generously called him a Maverick at the Reagan Justice Department, which was a nice word for a consistent pain in the departments rear. As to Ted Olson, Bush appointee as solicitor general, he is another good old boy from the Reagan administration, a fitting partner for John Roberts and Antonin Scalia, also stuffed by Bush into their "slightly to the right of Genghis Khan" seats on the stacked Supreme Court.

In fact, on Election Day, November 7, 2000, U.S. Supreme Court Justice Antonin Scalias son John accepted a position with the Florida law firm of Greenberg Traurig; and on November 8, the day after the election, Greenberg Traurig partner Barry Richard said he was called about representing George W. Bush in the Florida presidential recount, which ultimately led to the 5-4 Supreme Court vote placing Bush in the presidency. The timing of these actions raises significant questions about inner machinations between Bush-Cheney 2000 and Greenberg Traurig, if not the Supreme Court itself.

On balance

So goes the truth behind the Robertson rhetoric and Giuliani reality. Nevertheless, never underestimate the power of disinformation. In a recent trip to South Dakota, I was asked frequently what I thought of Rudy Giuliani. Somehow he seemed like a hero to those good, rural, red state folks. My answer to them all was to know Rudy is to reject him. And then as now, I told them why and watched their eyes open in wonder.
