Submission guidelines

Oct 28, 2005, 02:24

We welcome submissions that meet our standards for writing, content and style.

We prefer submissions be sent as word processor files attached to an email and that they follow our formatting guidelines. Please use 10 pt. Arial, no superscript or subscript and place a hard return between paragraphs. If your submission contains endnotes/footnotes, do not use that feature of your word processor, instead use numbers in brackets, e.g., [1]. Please do not use fancy fonts or formatting and DO NOT send anything in .html.

Also, please DO NOT embed photos, graphics or tables in the text, but send as separate email attachments (if they are large, attach each to a separate email) and we shall determine their suitability for our published format. Tables that have to be resized to 400 pixels are usually not legible, therefore, are not usable. If photos/graphics are to appear in specific places in an article, just put in Graphic 1, Graphic 2, etc., at the proper insertion points.

Articles and reviews that havent been published or submitted elsewhere will receive priority. You must state in the subject line of your email: Unpublished Submission. You will be notified within five days if your work has been accepted for publication and, after acceptance, you may not submit it elsewhere for 72 hours after it is published in Online Journal.

If your submission has been published elsewhere or you have made a simultaneous submission, you must state in the body of your email where it was published or the publications you have submitted it to.

Our door is open to thinking persons who can ferret out news, do analyses and offer opinions, and have the writing skills that meet our standards for quality. We especially welcome writers outside the U.S. who can provide a different perspective on world affairs and provide information about their own countries to broaden Americans understanding of the world.

All submissions must be hard-hitting and factual. Satire is welcome, but no poetry.

Online Journal strives to provide people with information, analyses and viewpoints that they wont find in the corporate media. While we openly take a liberal position, we are not a mouthpiece for Democrats, Greens or any other group.

Send all submissions to editor@onlinejournal.com.
