A holiday message

It has been an exhausting year in terms of work, the dreadful crises gripping the US and the world, and trying to raise enough money to keep Online Journal afloat, so I have toyed with taking off until Jan. 5 to spend time with family that will be visiting for the holidays, however, I may just publish on a limited basis until Jan. 5.

Notice: We are experiencing equipment and network problems
We have been experiencing latency issues for the past few days, but yesterday we had a prolonged total outage. While the system is back up (for the moment, anyway), latency issues still persist and may continue to do so for several days until some components are replaced. Replacing the components may also result in more downtime. We ask your patience and apologize for your inconvenience.

In Internet time, 10 years seems like forever. There were just a relative handful of online alternatives to the corporate media when I launched Online Journal on September 5, 1998, and was amazed at the reception it received from readers hungry for news and commentary the so-called “mainstream media” were failing -- and are still failing -- to give them.
