It starts with a
New York Daily News tabloid cover:
closeup of Giuliani and the mongo headline that reads, NAIL HIM, RUDY. Get it? To the left, an inset of Moussaoui’s
depressed face; left of that, “ex-mayor’s set to face Moussaoui in 9/11 trial
& urge the death penalty.” Mano a mano, I guess, or with hammer and nails.
Je-sus!
And it’s no small
irony that rectangled over Rudy is a shot of Katie Couric headlined, “$60G A
DAY TO READ THE NEWS. No wonder Katie’s smiling.” Hear that bloggers, there’s
BIG BUCKS in the right news, that is, far to the right.
Now you remember
Rudy? When President Bush visited Ground Zero in 2001 (to check on the havoc
the Boyz wreaked) and when he asked Guiliani what he could do for him, Rudy
replied, “If you catch this guy bin Laden, I would like to be the one to
execute him.” Wow, murderous impulses for bad guys for a guy that comes from a
family of murderous bad guys.
In fact, it was the
pre-9/11 kinder gentler Daily News,
actually on July 6, 2000, that brought us Michael R. Blood’s bloody book review
called “Rudy’s Kin Tied to Mob.” It was a review of Rudy! An
Investigative Biography of Rudolph Giuliani by Village Voice senior editor Wayne Barrett. Scroll down to . . .
"Mayor
Giuliani -- a former federal prosecutor who won notice for 'pursuing' the Mafia
-- had relatives linked to organized crime, including a mobbed-up cousin who
was gunned down by FBI agents in 1977, a new book says. Lewis D'Avanzo, a son
of the mayor's uncle and a guest at Giuliani's first wedding in 1968, was a
'ruthless and widely feared mob associate' who headed a massive stolen car
ring, according to FBI documents and interviews detailed in Rudy! An
Investigative Biography of Rudolph Giuliani, by Village Voice senior editor
Wayne Barrett.
“ . . . The book
sketches a largely unflattering portrait of the clan, depicting his father,
Harold, as a hothead and the "muscle" behind a brother-in-law's
loansharking operation, run out of a Brooklyn bar. Along with cracking heads,
it says the mayor's father served time in state prison for a stickup, rarely
held an on-the-books job and once was a gunman in a mob shootout in Brighton
Beach, Brooklyn.
“According to the
book, Giuliani's cousin Lewis D'Avanzo was known as ‘Steve the Blond’ and
listed as armed and dangerous in FBI bulletins. His criminal record included a
10-year federal sentence for the armed hijacking of a truck loaded with
$240,000 worth of mercury. The book alleges that he was suspected of taking
part in several murders. D'Avanzo was gunned down by the FBI in October 1977,
when he tried to run down an agent after being stopped on a warrant that
accused him and two associates of transporting 100 stolen luxury cars.
“Quoting an unnamed
friend of D'Avanzo, the book describes a 1962 shootout pitting a local mobster
against the mayor's father and Leo D'Avanzo, Lewis D'Avanzo's father. The book
says Leo was later sanctioned by mob bosses for shooting at a Mafia member. Leo
D'Avanzo, who was known in family circles as a black sheep, ran loansharking
and gambling operations out of a Brooklyn bar where Giuliani's father worked as
a bartender. In his role as debt collector, his father 'broke legs, smashed
kneecaps, crunched noses . . ." And so on and on and on.
You’ve come a long
way Rudy to World Hero. Or have you? Remember that slip of the tongue from Tom
Kenney of FEMA’s National Urban Search and Rescue Team, telling Dan Rather of
CBS News that FEMA had arrived in New York on the night of September 10, 2001
(what a coincidence). And you, Rudy, were supposed to use this as your command
post on 9/11/2001, after you were to evacuate WTC 7.
So this means what,
that you knew that night before that the WTC was going to collapse and didn’t
say anything? And you knew about the five
major terror hijacking drills that were going to be run on 9/11 that would
fill the screen with some 22 plans and render NORAD, in a word, impotent. Yup,
read all about them on the link above from Alex Jones’ Prison Planet.
And wait a minute.
Didn’t you tell, like it says there, the late Peter Jennings of ABC News, “We
were operating out of there when were told that the World Trade Center was
gonna collapse.” How could you have
known that then when no steel
building (especially a redundant steel building) in history had ever collapsed
before from fire damage? Smells like a rat to me, Rudy.
Now, did you tell
the above to the people on the jury? I don’t think so. I read your polemic and
I didn’t hear a word about your foreknowledge of the terrible event that
Zacarias Moussaoui is now taking the rap for, single-handedly, and with a
“sting band” to boot, and with your urging the jury to give him the big sting,
death by lethal injection in the Terre Haute, Indiana, death house.
I guess, since
George and the Boyz couldn’t get hold of Osama bin Laden after almost five
years, they’re desperate for a goat. So you’ll have to settle for the hapless
Moussaoui and help shove the needle in. I guess America will have to settle for
that, because you’re one of the Boyz, and the Boyz, with choir master Cheney,
the big shooter, took charge and ran the hit. So we need a patsy, no? Like
father like son, like cousin like cousin. Madonna mia.
And there you were
at the trial, telling the people to listen to the tapes of dying people in the
Towers, when it was your crew that told those people to stay in the buildings.
Why didn’t you tell the courtroom like you did Peter Jennings that WTC 7 was
going to fall, or even that Towers 1 and 2 were going to fall? You could hear
the detonations going off from both buildings. You knew all this and ran around
like Captain
Video with his Video Rangers, and never said a word.
And those tapes
from the planes. They’re baloney. More CIA productions like the Osama tapes.
First of all cell phones didn’t work then from nearly seven miles up. It’s a
scientific fact. It wasn’t till 2004 that American Airlines spent millions to
install cell “towers” in the nosecones of their planes so that cell phone calls
could be made. And the ones being played are fakes, cruel jokes. Is that why
the public is not allowed to hear them?
How could you look
those people in the eye, knowing what you know? How do you look yourself in the
eye? Are you another Bernie Kerik, your old partner, another procurer and thief
and god knows what else, who got kicked out of the post of Homeland Security
Boss. But hey, that’s guilt by association. We don’t need that when we’ve got
red-handed guilt, guilt by word, deed and action. So tell the people. Confess.
Set the record straight. Mention your juicy speaking fees, hundreds of
thousands of dollars, for capitalizing on people’s tragedies.
And, readers, if you think this Rudy rage is just me, just
listen to what this 9/11 widow, Kristen Breitweiser, posted under “Giuliani’s Deadly Impact?” at huffingtonpost.com on Wednesday.
“Can someone please explain to me why Rudy Giuliani gets to give a victim's
impact statement at the Moussaoui penalty phase hearing? Which family member
did Guiliani lose in the attacks?
“Forgive me, but
Giuliani is the person responsible for deciding to locate NYC's emergency
command center in the World Trade Center along with a diesel fuel tank (against
the advice of certain FDNY officials) before 9/11.
“Locating the
city's emergency command center in a known al Qaeda target (the towers were
struck in 1993 and al Qaeda publicly promised to return to finish the job) was
a colossal failure in judgment on his part that cost hundreds of lives on 9/11.
“During the attacks, because the command center was rendered inoperable,
NYC had no clear chain of command and no physical command structure in place to
coordinate the emergency response. Frankly, the whole reason Giuliani was on
television all day and available for interviews was because he was scrambling
around the streets trying to set up a command post since the one he had
designed and located was paralyzed during the attacks.
“Anyone who wants
to witness the results of NYC's abysmal emergency response to the attacks need
only listen to the recently released 911 tapes that chillingly reveal a total
lack of coordination and flow of vital life-saving information plaguing the
city and its emergency response apparatus that day. (By the way, Mayor
Bloomberg has yet to fix the 911 system -- even five years later.)
‘Furthermore,
Giuliani is also responsible for giving the FDNY inoperable Motorola radios.
This, too, cost hundreds of lives when firemen did not hear the order to
evacuate the towers prior to their collapse. (By the way, those radios are
still not fixed -- blame this on Bloomberg, too.)
“How
is a man who is responsible for such horrific and deadly judgments invited to
give a victim's impact statement as to how 9/11 impacted him?” Indeed, my dear,
how?
“By these
standards, should I expect Condoleezza Rice (Ms. 'Nobody knew planes could be
used as missiles'), George Tenet (Mr. 'I failed to tell the FBI for 18 months
that two known al Qaeda killers were living in San Diego and planning the 9/11
attacks'), and perhaps, George Bush (Mr. 'I was reading a story about a pet
goat while thousands of people perished and burned alive in the World Trade
Center because I didn't want to alarm the school children.') to provide
victim's impact statements, as well?”
Really, Rudy. who
are you to be urging anyone to be executed when it is your own miserable self
who should be condemned. Fellow Italian American. Gombah. Gangster. How far
you’ve come, how far, from that guy who passed me on Third Avenue 20 years ago,
the tough DA prosecutor, looking like you were going somewhere, when in fact
you landed nowhere, Ground Zero. Then you swept all the evidence of America’s major
crime scene away in a matter of eight months. But when you get on the stand to
grandstand next time, tell it all.
Now that’s Rudy’s
real face. And just to put a face on Moussaoui, here’s this email sent to me
from a friend of his family in response to my article that Moussaoui was
wearing a “stun belt” . . .
This is absolutely true. I was in the courtroom with his mom at the
beginning of the trial and he was definitely wearing a stun belt underneath his
prison suit . . . The most worrying thing truly was that a number of people --
including. journalists who had studied him during previous hearings and his own
mother noted that his behavior was very irregular. The first part of the day he
was totally lethargic and hardly moving at all, then he would become more
attentive to what was going on and then become agitated by the end of the day.
We all wonder if he is being drugged every morning . . . We don't have the
answer though. Thanks for your article, so far no media had actually raised
this topic.
Yes, and isn’t that strange, Katie and
friends, such a universal outcry for the goat’s blood and nothing but applause
for Hizzoner’s uninterrupted, insidious rhetoric that will hang a man one way
or the other in the gallows of history unless some truth be told, like now.
